SS: Sunday Saves (#64)

sunday-saves

Good morning everyone and Happy Sunday! I hope you’re having a wonderful day so far; I’ve had a lovely weekend so far and I’m hoping for the same positive vibes today. On this week’s Sunday Saves, I’ll be talking about gratitude, yoga and dreams this morning so I hope you enjoy.

1) From Lucy With Love (Weekly Gratitude)

As you know from reading the blog, I have been incorporating gratitude more into my daily life (If you want to read my blog post on it, it’s right here) and Lucy does this in blog form and I love it! If you’re just looking for gratitude inspiration or want to find out what she’s been grateful for, check out her post. And Lucy, the Tony Robbins documentary is amazing! I need to re-watch it again.

2) Brianne Etc. (10 Ways That Yoga Changed My Life)

Reading Brianne’s post made me get even more excited for heading back to my yoga practice tomorrow night after a four month break. Yoga can be revolutionary and it’s not an exaggeration that it can be life changing; it can change your mindset on so many elements of your life. I can’t say there isn’t one point where I don’t agree with Brianne, she really has hit the nail on the head, so if you want to find out how she thrives because of yoga, go check out her post!

3) Dolly Dowsie (National Dream Day | 9 Mind Blowing Facts About Your Dreams)

This post by Fiona is over two years ago but I seen it pop on my latest feed and thought it looked quite interesting. I’ve never really analysed my dreams before except if they have babies (because I’ve heard that’s meant to mean a death is coming) or if someone dies (because that’s meant to mean someone will have a baby, right?) Fiona’s post is all about dreams and more specifically, facts about dreams so it’s quite a nice read if you want to learn something new! (Because you should learn something new every day, right?)

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s picks and remember to give them a visit to see what they have to say. If you’re interested in reading any of my other Sunday Saves, click here and you’ll see my previous sixty-three posts. Have a great day and thank you for reading!

SS: Sunday Saves (#56)

Happy Sunday everyone! While I’m writing this, it’s such a gorgeous day outside, always a sure fire way of being in a better mood eh? In today’s post I’ll be talking about cleaning your home and mind, habits of grateful people and being more mindful as a non-vegan.

1) Suzie Speaks (50 Things To Remove From Your Home and Your Life)

Judging by the weather (most of the time), I’d like to think we’re coming into the Summer and one of my favourite things to do during the Summer is do a massive clean. I know a lot of people like to do a Spring clean (in the Spring of course) but for me, it always goes back to when I was in school and you would have a huge clear out before heading back to school in September. Suzie highlights fifty things that you should remove from your home but also from your personal life, so not only are you cleaning your house but you’re also cleaning your mind, to a certain extent.

2) Hack Spirit (The Top 9 Habits Of Grateful People… Even In Tough Times)

If you’ve been reading the blog lately or following me on my social media, you’ll know I have started to get into the practice of gratitude. It’s such an important practice for me especially when my day isn’t going as well as I had hoped it would. Gratefulness brings me back down to earth. That’s what I found so interested about this Hack Spirit blog post about habits of people who are grateful even on the tough days. It’s something we should all take into consideration, both on the good days and the bad.

3) The Zombie Said (5 Simple Ways For Non-Vegans To Help Vegan Causes)

I prefer to call myself plant based rather than vegan because I’m quite open about not having changed all my clothes, make-up, hair care and skincare over to one hundred percent cruelty free. I really liked the way Steph came across in this post, it’s not preachy or forceful, it’s just giving you a few simple tips on how you can be more mindful when it comes to spending your money on products and perhaps promote a positive change if you can’t commit yourself to being vegan.

Well that’s all for today’s Sunday Saves post. If you’d like to catch up on my other Sunday Saves, you’ll find them here and let me know your thoughts on today’s post, either down below or over on my Twitter!

Learning How To Be More Grateful.

Gratitude: “the quality of being thankful, readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness to.”

(The views in Rome will always be something I am eternally grateful for. Absolutely stunning!)

That’s what gratitude means according to the Oxford Dictionary but to me, it means “being grateful for the little things that life gives you and to be thankful for where you are right now”.

Since the start of the year, I’ve begun to incorporate mindfulness more into my daily life and gratitude is an addition to this practice. The one thing that I struggle with when it comes to gratitude though is when it’s a bad day. It’s the easiest thing in the world when you can think of all the great things from your day, but if you have a bad day, it can be very difficult.

You can show your appreciation for gratitude in many ways; some choose to write it on their blog or on their phone, some say it out loud as part of their meditation practice and others prefer to write it down in a notebook or a journal.

If you read the blog regularly, you’ll know I’m working with the Itty Bitty Book Co. on spreading the message of positivity and happiness and this is where their new product launch comes in. They have released their very own gratitude journal in three colours: yellow, blue and white. It’s a 21 Day Challenge with yourself (because the best person to compete with, is yourself) to see how gratitude can change your mindset, if that’s something you’re wanting to change or simply improve on.

To give you a sneak peek into the journal, I thought I would share what my first day looked like. These were my three things for the day that I was grateful for. They don’t have to be big things; they really can be that really good cup of tea you had first thing in the morning or maybe you caught the early bus that morning to work. You can be thankful for the people that you have in your life, whether that’s your friends and family or the bus driver that smiled at you.

I’m planning on doing the journal every other day just to ease myself into the challenge, but if you can, you should try to do it everyday!

(One of the first pages in the journal giving you a very simple explanation on how it all works.)

I wrote a post last year on appreciating on the small things (which you’ll find right here!) and I find that really relates to the gratitude journal, because you really are appreciating the little things in life.

(One of the many bowls of Italian ice-cream I had on holiday with some tea; you can be thankful for the food you ate that day or the happiness you got from eating that food. It really is that simple.)

If you want to have a look at the Gratitude Journal for yourself, you’ll find it right here! It’s currently £4 for one but if you want all three colours, it’s just £10.
