Happy Sunday and welcome back to my Sunday Saves! If you don’t know what Sunday Saves are, it’s a weekly post on Sunday from me about some of my favourite blog posts that I have discovered throughout the week. It showcases bloggers (and a YouTuber this week) that you may or may not have heard of to encourage you to discover new blogs each week. If you’ve missed any of my other Sunday Saves, click here and you’ll get my other fifteen posts.
1. Its Sarah Anne (11 Signs You’re Secretly A Grandma)
Sarah Anne’s post just speaks to me! I get told all the time I act more like a sixty year old rather than a (now) twenty five year old but you know what, that’s okay. I am totally 100% okay with being a grandma. I am totally happy with wanting to sit in the house with a cup of tea watching hours of Friends marathons rather than go out to a club where I won’t be able to hear what anyone is saying and then struggling for a taxi home (However, in my birthday post, I did say that I would normally drive home anyway but I’m talking about the times that I can’t borrow the car to do that.). There’s only one or two things that I don’t feel the same about on Sarah Anne’s post; I do understand Tinder, I like to think I know a little about modern technology and I’m not so into florals. However, everything else I agree with: I pretty much never leave the house without a coat (because I live in Northern Ireland, are you crazy?), if I start a film after 9pm I genuinely sit and work out whether I will have time to watch it or if there is potential I could fall asleep.
2. Charlie Is So Cool Like (Anxiety, Depression and Being A Downer)
I think Charlie is one of those YouTubers that everyone has watched ever since the beginning of YouTube really. So when he talks about anxiety, depression and “being a downer” as he puts it, I feel like the majority of people relate to it. So whether that is the depression, the anxiety or just not feeling yourself, you relate, because we are all human. He talks about being recently diagnosed with both depression and anxiety and how he just thought he was feeling whiny and needed to “man up”. I think this is the main problem with even just feeling low in general because you have all these emotions but sometimes people can try around to you and say “You know, there are so many people in the world worse off than you.” Is that true? Yes, of course it is. Does that mean that you’re not allowed to feel unhappy about your life? No. You have every right to feel any emotion you want. If you feel sad, devastated, broken, hurt, you’re allowed to feel that and you shouldn’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You are the one living your life, not anyone else. They can’t stand there and tell you how to feel, the only one that can really know how you feel is you. If you haven’t seen Charlie’s video, you should; even if you don’t suffer with anxiety or depression, I believe you will still take something away from it.
3. The Curveaous Vegan (Yogi Tea Summer Hamper)
I’m a tea woman. I love tea so much. I’m not a coffee girl and up until last year, I never really tried it then I did try it and I’m still not converted. So when I seen Amie posting about tea, and even about Yogi Tea (which is my favourite type of tea) I knew it was going to be included. As for Yogi Tea, I have only ever tried the Classic flavour and the Green Energy flavour, but I love the little tabs on them because they’re full of positive mantras and I think it’s nice to look at as you sip on your tea. In Amie’s post she talks about the different types of Yogi Tea and her descriptions seem pretty great actually. I find it hard describing tastes so well done Amie! She even has pictures of the teabag packets themselves so if you’re ever out looking for the tea, you’ll know what you need to look for.
And that’s all for this week’s Sunday Saves! Make sure you go check out Charlie, Amie and Sarah Anne and if you find any interesting blog posts, send them to me at @RetroSnowflake
